How to install osclass?

This article will help you install osclass classified scripts and get started in 5 minutes. For this article we will be using XAMPP read more about xampp here

Osclass installation requirements :

  • PHP version >= 5.x
  • MySQLi extension for PHP
  • GD extension for PHP
  • Folder oc-content/uploads exists
  • oc-content/uploads folder is writable
  • Folder oc-content/downloads exists
  • oc-content/downloads folder is writable
  • Folder oc-content/languages folder exists
  • oc-content/languages folder is writable
  • Root directory is writable
  • config-sample.php file exists

Step 1 :

Download osclass zip file from osclass download‘s page. You will get the latest osclass zip file for installation. Copy / Move the zip files to the desired location on your server and unzip it .

Step 2 ( screen 1 ):

Navigate to the url where you have unzipped the osclass installation files. Eg :


you will see the following error on your screen. Click on install button and proceed

Step 3  ( screen 2 ) :


On the following screen osclass will check all the requirements for the installation. If you have all the green tick mark then click on Run the install button and proceed further.

PHP version should be above 5.x , MySQLi extension for PHP has to be enabled, GD extension for PHP has to be enabled , Root directory must be writable. For more details refer to osclass installation requirements at the beginning of the article.

Step 4 ( screen 3 ) :

On this screen you have to provide osclass with the following details

  1. Host – Server name or IP where the database engine resides ( Eg : localhost )
  2. Database name – The name of the database you want to run Osclass in
  3. Username – Your MySQL username ( username will be “root” in XAMPP localhost )
  4. Password – Your MySQL password ( password will be blank in XAMPP localhost )
  5. Prefix – If you want to run multiple Osclass installations in a single database, change this

Fill out the details with your database name and the MySQL credentials for your database.

The advance section below the table prefix will help you create a new database if you have not created a database. You just have to add the MySQL username and password. This will automatically create a database if you have not created. You still have to provide the database name , username and password.

After the database has been created and the necessary tables have been add. You will now have to add a admin user and password on the following screen.

Under contact information add the web title i.e the website name and the contact email address. The contact email address will be used to send reports and password recovery for the admin panel. Choose countries/cities where your target users are located. After you you have filled up the details click next.

If you have followed all the above steps then your osclass installation has been installed and you will get the following screen.

You can now view the admin panel at http://localhost/osclass/oc-admin/ ( for this article ) and the public view at http://localhost/osclass/ ( for this article )

Login to you admin panel at http://localhost/osclass/ ( for this article ) OR your desired url where you have installed the osclass.
